Two South America Children's Charities to Provide Healthier Nutrition Through Casa Herbalife Programs

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Two non-profit organizations that serve at-risk and low income children in Colombia and Brazil have received funds from the Herbalife Family Foundation (HFF) to establish Casa Herbalife programs to provide healthier nutrition to children in their care.

Asociacion Probienestar Infantil - APROBI, located in the Suba district of Bogota, is the first Casa Herbalife program established in Colombia. Established in 1978, APROBI cares for and educates low income pre-school-aged children aged two to five years old. The grant will be used primarily to improve its kitchen facilities in order to provide healthy meals and proper nutrition to over 260 children.

In Brazil, Casa do Menor Sao Miguel Arcanjo in Fortaleza takes care of almost 70 children in need and funds will allow for updating kitchen facilities and appliances and helping provide nutritious meals for its participants.

These are the 23rd and 24th Casa Herbalife programs established by HFF, a private, non-profit organization supported by Herbalife Ltd., its independent distributors, employees, friends and families. Created in 1994 by Herbalife founder Mark Hughes, HFF's mission is helping children in need by offering support in overcoming life's most basic challenges, from escaping poverty, hunger and abuse to receiving adequate medical care and education. In addition to developing Casa Herbalife programs worldwide, HFF often responds to natural disasters by establishing special funds, as it did for victims of the tsunamis, earthquake and hurricanes that struck in 2004 and 2005.
