Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF), a global nutrition and direct selling company, announced that Taiwanese nutrition specialist Shih-Yi Huang, Ph.D. has joined the company's Nutrition Advisory Board.
The advisory board is comprised of leading experts around the world in the fields of nutrition and health who educate and train Herbalife independent distributors on the principles of nutrition, physical activity and healthy lifestyle. The board is chaired by David Heber, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
Huang currently chairs and is a professor at Taiwan's Taipei Medical University, School of Nutrition and Health Sciences. He is an expert on metabolism, with a focus on how nutrients can improve mental health. He is also a specialist of vitamins and phytochemicals.
Huang has been published extensively on the usage and effects of omega-3 fatty acids, as well as other areas of nutrition. He also serves on the boards of the Taiwan Nutrition Society and Taiwan Obesity Society.
Huang received his master's, Ph.D., and postdoctoral training from University of Rhode Island, Department of Food Science and Nutrition.
There are currently 20 members to the board, representing 17 countries.
